Central Angle from the Area of a Sector

POINT
Central angle = 360° × Area ÷ (π × Radius²).
Example
Find the central angle of the sector. (Radius = 6 cm, Area = 15π cm²)
Hand-drawn sector diagram

Practice

Find the central angle of the sector.

01
Radius = 4 cm, Area = 4π cm²
?4 cmS = 4π cm²
Central angle: 90°
02
Radius = 5 cm, Area = 10π cm²
?5 cmS = 10π cm²
Central angle: 144°
03
Radius = 8 cm, Area = 32π cm²
?8 cmS = 32π cm²
Central angle: 180°
04
Radius = 10 cm, Area = 75π cm²
?10 cmS = 75π cm²
Central angle: 270°
